Discipline Plan
Classroom Rules
Each teacher will develop their classroom discipline system and what they will expect from each student. Each student is expected to follow their classroom’s rules!
Cafeteria Rules
- No horsing around in lunch line; walk both ways to and from the playground.
- Do not have equipment in line.
- No throwing of food.
- Use two hands to carry tray.
- Talk quietly, to and from, so as not to disturb those in classes.
- When exiting to the playground, use the corridor next to the 300 or 400 wings.
- Do not forget to clean up your area/ table.
- Obey all adults!
Playground Rules
- Use equipment only for what it was designed for.
- If a problem arises, go to one of the adults on duty or the student Conflict Managers.
- Do not play in hallways or around the drinking fountains or bathrooms.
- Know the playground boundaries!
- Handball is to be played only against designated “ball walls.”
- Do not throw sand, rocks, sticks, etc.
- No food on the playground. Snacks are to be eaten “on the wall” by the library.
- No tackle football, wrestling, pyramid building, etc.
- No tag, etc. on or around the Big Toy and sand areas.
- Do not go for a drink or try to use the bathroom after the bell ring; that’s what recess was for.
- Line up quickly!
School Rules
- Obey all other rules!
- Obey and be respectful to adults!
- No fighting or threatening, this is called “battery and/or assault” in law.
- After school, unless you are attending ASPIRE or a scheduled Reading, Writing, Math or Homework Intervention, go directly home. No stopping to play on school grounds.
- If you are tardy or absent, bring a note!
- No damaging of school property.
- No improper language, name calling or verbal harassment (gender/ racial).
- No firecrackers, water balloons or anything else that can be considered a weapon or drug.
